Jennifer Newman MSW, LICSW

Jennifer has completed Level 1 training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Jennifer incorporates her co-therapist, therapy dog, Willow. Research studies have documented the benefits of incorporating animals into therapeutic settings. Animals can enhance the mental health of people by providing unconditional affection, especially during times of transitions or difficulty. Willow is a female Golden Retriever who provides Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT). Willow is always cheerful and happy to see you. She offers enthusiastic greetings and never stops wagging her tail until all are settled into session. Once in session she becomes calm and seems to sense just what her clients need. Willow and Jennifer have worked together over the past 3 years and have interacted with different people, environments, and other animals. Willow has completed the necessary training to become a certified therapy dog which ensures she has the appropriate temperament to make people feel comfortable.

“My role as a counselor is to help individuals; I cannot push you or pull you through your experience, I can only walk along side of you offering professional assistance to move you forward in your life. I work collaboratively with my client’s to identify goals they can work towards in a safe, nonjudgmental and supportive environment. “
